The Project
The £130 million Chase Farm Hospital redevelopment which opened in 2018 was achieved at an unprecedented rate, completing in 4 years. Toppesfield were contracted by client Vinci Construction to carry out surfacing works to the new development, including laying an Ulticolour surface to footpaths and the carriageway to the new entrance of the hospital.
Our Work
Our works were delivered on an almost monthly basis from December 2017 until our completion in August 2019. Toppesfield visits coincided with the client’s staged handovers, with the strict deadline of areas of the hospital needing to be completed for the opening in September 2018.
Once the hospital had reopened, Toppesfield worked closely and collaboratively with all parties to minimise disruption to 24-hour availability. Our outputs exceeded expectation reaching 120 tonnes of Ulticolour in one shift. Covering a larger area in each shift reduces disruption and joints which will minimise future maintenance, saving the client future spend.
