Sector:
Highways
Completion:
Ongoing
The Project
Ouse bridge, which forms part of the M62, is made from reinforced concrete and spans River Ouse between Goole and Howden.
In March 2022 routine investigations identified failures in the bridge’s joints. After further investigations, National Highways revealed all eight bridge joints needed replacing.
Toppesfield were contracted to assist with the preparation works for the joints replacement by delivering temporary running lanes.
Our Work
Continuing their delivery of the Area 12 National Highways Framework, Toppesfield completed works on the M62 Ouse Bridge, on behalf of valued client Ameys plc. The temporary running lanes Toppesfield successfully delivered will allow for continued traffic flow whilst essential repairs are carried out on the bridge’s joints.
The project included the delivery of 2500 tonnes of Ultipave 65pSV, chosen for its durability and reduction in road noise and surface spray.
Due to their extensive resources and supply chain partners, Toppesfield were able to commence works within 48 hours’ of notice.
The project required careful planning and collaboration across the supply chain network to minimise traffic disturbance.
Results & Achievements
• Continued Area 12 Framework delivery on behalf of National Highways
• Supporting key infrastructure maintenance and allowing continued traffic flow
