The Project
Working with Marriott Civils, Toppesfield have delivered surfacing work for Stansted Airport for 8 years. Delivering in two phases each year, we lay approximately 5,000m2 per phase. To cause no disruption to the busy airport, airside surfacing works take place between the hours 0030 and 0500.
Our Work
Our staff, experienced in airport works, adhered to strict security measures – all materials have to be delivered to site before midnight to ensure security passes are issued and vehicles are escorted onto the runway with the plant and labour.
Once all security passes are in place and vehicles checked, plant and labour are escorted to the edge of the runway to wait for the last plane to land or take off.
Once the airside marshals give the all clear, our operatives disperse onto the runway to undertake the surfacing works.
