Sustainability policy

Sustainability within the workplace is an essential factor for the growth of the business and the environments and communities within which we work.

Toppesfield will ensure sustainability is maintained throughout all aspects of its work by adhering to the following principals:

Quality
Toppesfield are committed to delivering Quality throughout its business, to ensure complete customer satisfaction and ensure all customers receive a high quality of service as detailed within the Toppesfield Quality Policy Statement and Quality Management System, in accordance with the requirement of BS EN ISO 9001 and NHSS16. The approach of Toppesfield is to align and exceed our client’s expectations ensuring satisfied clients and the opportunity for repeat business.

Safety
Toppesfield provides a steadfast commitment to the prevention of injury and ill health and continual improvement in Occupational Health and Safety management, in line with our BS EN ISO 45001 certification. Ensuring that all reasonably practicable measures are taken to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all its employees, sub-contractors and others who may be affected by the way it carries out its business.
We are committed to improving and protecting the health, safety and welfare of our workforce and the communities affected by our operations, and will establish an open and honest safety culture within the business.

Environment
We will continue to manage our business in line with our BS EN ISO 14001 certification and will maintain exceptional standards of performance in relation to environmental and sustainability issues.
We will seek to minimise our impact on the environment by reducing our carbon footprint, and by monitoring our use of resources that are required to operate our business.
We will seek to maximise the potential for the reuse and recycling of materials on every project, and actively promote methods aimed at minimising waste.
We will endeavor to continually improve our energy performance by meeting our set objectives and targets and pursuing new opportunities for improvement
We will continue to deliver products and services which have a low environmental impact across their lifecycle.

Financial
Without being financially successful the business will cease to trade, with the resulting impact on employees and our supply chain. To ensure financial stability and profitability, we will undertake regular financial reviews and annual audits undertaken by an independent accountancy practice. Toppesfield will identify financial benchmarks, identified in the accounts which enable review, assessment of progress and planning of future activities.
We will develop our workforce and raise awareness of sustainability issues through our employees, supply chain and customers to ensure that our workforce is able to meet the future needs of the business.
We will establish standards within the business and will appoint people in key leadership roles to ensure that the standards are implemented.

Social
We will continue to involve our local communities and stakeholders and will engage with them at the earliest possible opportunity, to ensure that any impacts are identified and managed effectively.
We believe in working partnerships and actively seek to influence policy both locally and nationally through our membership of various organisations, groups and working parties which are directly connected to our industry.
Toppesfield is committed to growing the business in a responsible manner whilst continually monitoring, managing and optimising our operations to ensure that they do not impact adversely on the local environment and communities in which we operate.
