Role Responsbility

Combining hands on training and University education, this role is the ideal launching pad for those who wish to develop a long-term career in the construction materials/highways sector. The role is also key to implementing a succession plan within the technical team.

The role will assist the Technical Manager in many managerial aspects, ensuring effective unit and product quality control is maintained in accordance with Health & Safety and technical specification requirements. To ensure effective liaison and team working with the area operational and commercial teams.

The role will provide onsite testing and quality control of our ToppBase business, overseeing factory production control, onsite compliance, complaint investigation and customer relations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring Health & Safety is the number one priority.
• Provision of full and effective testing processes in accordance with standards and accreditation
• Identification of quality issues and the instigation of corrective action
• Effective technical team organisation, ensuring that all business requirements are fulfilled.
• Optimise products re cost and performance.
• Supporting Contracting on major contracts within the region
• To work with operational teams to deliver solutions to slow moving stock and mineral related product issues.
• To monitor and assist operations to meet the compliance and consistency criteria to ensure products conform.
• To ensure that all technical operational systems are adhered to in accordance with quality control plans / procedures & Sox compliant where required.
• To assist with investigations on complaints and make recommendation for improvements.
• External commercial team support to key customers
• Technical Dashboard accountability
• Support to internal sales department.
• Support to the technical management team in all aspects of the performance management.

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• 80 UCAS points to include at least two A /AS levels at grade C or above
• Five GCSEs at grades 4 (C) or above including Math’s, English and Science
• A full UK driving license
